And so your senior year begins!

It seems the reality of being a senior is setting in as I’ve been getting a LOT of calls for senior sessions the past few days. And many have inquired about the traditional “drape” shot. If you need a drape shot for your yearbook image, we can get that done as well as the fun – personality filled images. *Sorry guys, I don’t have the tux. Drapes are easy, one size adjusts to all… the tuxes are much more size dependent and well, most guys just have the yearbook photographer do it, so it hasn’t made sense for me to buy a bajillion different faux tuxes. But I digress…

If you need a drape shot, you also need a few bits of information.

1. What is the Yearbook DEADLINE? This is important!!!! If you do not allow ample time, your image will not make it in the yearbook. Custom photography is not like shooting on a polaroid – not even digital. There is still “developing” to be done to a file to make it ready. So find out your deadline and book in plenty of time. More time than you think it will require. As the photographers are busy this time a year and your image may not be on the top of the pile.

2. What colour background does your yearbook require? Often a particular colour is required and well, I will need to know that. I currently offer the three solid coloured drops below.

3. Ask your yearbook advisor if there are any other requirements… what format/size the file should be…? can I email the file to him/her…? or do they require a print and if so, what size…? which direction should you be facing – right or left…?

Come prepared with this information and we can knock the drape shot out and then move on to the fun stuff. Oh and I have the pearl necklace shown, but feel free to bring a different necklace etc. Just because you all have to wear the same piece of velvet doesn’t mean we can’t make it look like you… a little.
